Issue Group 1 Human development under the influence of technology
8 issue statements are concerned with the broad issue of human development. Most of them are more or less related to the influence of modern technologies.

Issues 26 and 43 raise more general issues: The luxuries and conveniences of contemporary life prevent people from developing into truly strong and independent individuals (model essay 26); The increasingly rapid pace of life today causes more problems than it solves (model outline 43).
Issues 64 and 91 approach the theme of human development from a different angle: The human mind will always be superior to machines because machines are only tools of human minds (model essay 64); The primary goal of technological advancement should be to increase people's efficiency so that they have more leisure time (model essay 91).
Issues 109 and 132 are written in similar sentence patterns with different foci: Some people believe that scientific discoveries have given us a much better understanding of the world around us. Others believe that science has revealed to us that the world is infinitely more complex than we ever realized (model essay 109); Some people believe that our ever-increasing use of technology significantly reduces our opportunities for human interaction. Other people believe that technology provides us with new and better ways to communicate and connect with one another (model outline 132).
Issues 33 and 109 deal with the same problem but are worded differently: As we acquire more knowledge, things do not become more comprehensible, but more complex and mysterious (33). Some people believe that scientific discoveries have given us a much better understanding of the world around us. Others believe that science has revealed to us that the world is infinitely more complex than we ever realized (109).
